Eli Kornreich to leave Bridgeport JCCS
By Judie Jacobson

BRIDGEPORT – Eli Kornreich, president and CEO of the Jewish Center for Community Services (JCCS), is leaving the organization at the end of August. He will become executive vice president of the Lincoln Square Synagogue in New York City.

“Eli is a wonderful executive who has guided our merged JCC and Federation in difficult times,” says JCCS board of directors co-chair Harold Rosnick.
Kornreich joined the JCCS administration in 1998 as director of Camp JCC and children’s and family programs. He became president and CEO in 2001.
According to Rosnick, the JCCS executive committee is in the process of conducting a national search for a new CEO. “There will be a seamless transition when Eli moves on to his new position,” says Rosnick. “Robert Berkowitz, my co-chair, and the board of directors is confident that, based upon the quality of the applicants, we will find a new President/CEO who will work well with our staff, membership and donors. We have an active long range planning committee that is currently evaluating the needs of the community to create a thriving Jewish community for the next generation. We are confident that our new executive director will assist us in that endeavor.”

As for the search, Rosnick anticipates “that our search process will move quickly, and that we will be announcing our new President/CEO within the next several weeks.”
