Slutsky named head of Tower One/Tower East

NEW HAVEN – Richard Slutsky has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Tower One/TowerEast, a non-profit senior housing and assisted living campus in New Haven with 380 residents. He will assume his new post on Jan.12,2011.

As the Towers’ senior staff member, Slutsky will oversee policy, strategy and day-to-day operations. He succeeds Dorothy Giannini-Meyers, who retired on Dec. 31, after 21 successful years as president and CEO.

Slutsky,who has more than 20 years of senior level experience managing eldercare organizations in Connecticut and Massachusetts, is currently vice president of Eldercare Services at Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), a hospital and nursing home system in the Manchester-Vernon area. In this capacity, he administers Woodlake at Tolland,a 130 bed short-term rehabilitation and long-term care facility, and oversees ECHN’s investment in the local visiting nurse association ,of which he serves as chairman of the board.

A licensed nursing home administrator, he is a graduate of Boston University and received an MBA in both health care administration and finance from the University of Connecticut.
