Lydia (Gold) Lichter

Lydia (Gold) Lichter, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Sunday June 12, 2011 at Hillcrest Commons of Pittsfield, Mass.  Mrs. Lichter was born in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose (Kenter) Gold, and attended Bassick High School.  Mrs. Lichter was a Brownie leader in the 1940’s, and an advisor to the B’nai B’rith Girls, Ben Gurian Chapter. She was a very active member of Park City ORT, and the Abraham Chapter of B’nai Brith.  Mrs. Lichter actively supported and volunteered for the Democratic Party in Bridgeport, CT. Mrs. Lichter worked at Celine’s Millinary Store in Bridgeport and the Brookside Shopping Center.  All who knew her enjoyed her love of cooking, baking and entertaining.  Mrs. Lichter always enjoyed going to the theater.  Mrs. Lichter was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Irving Jacob Lichter in 1988, a daughter, Saundra Gail Parcharsky in 2007, and a son-in-law, Michael Peretzman in 2008. Lydia is survived by her devoted daughter, Iris Peretzman of Pittsfield, Mass., her adored grandchildren, Marc Peretzman of Pittsfield, Mass., Bonnie Oszmian and her husband Martin of Hancock, Mass., and cherished great-granddaughters, Alana Klipper and her husband David of Long Island, N.Y., Shira Oszmian of N.Y., and Jenna Oszmian of Northampton, Mass.
