WEST HARTFORD — In response to the great success of its book, Remembering the Old Neighborhood: Stories From Hartford’s North End,” the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford is now collecting stories and photos for a second and final volume.
The Historical Society is seeking stories and anecdotes (not biographies) from those who grew up in Hartford from the 1930s through the 1960s.  Memories about neighbors, businesses, schoolmates, teachers, clubs, organizations, sports teams, etc., are all welcome.
In addition, the Society is gathering photos of neighborhood street scenes, clubs, organizations, sports teams, activities and, of course, people.  Scenes, businesses and people in the photos must be identified (except for large group photos). They should be sent, e-mailed or brought, along with stories, to the Society’s office at 333 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford 06117.
To have your photos scanned at our office and returned to you, please contact Bea Brodie at (860) 727-6170 or bbrodie@jewishhartford.org
For more information, contact Susan Juster Viner at pharmate@sbcgobal.net or (860) 688-6642.
