Hartford Jewish Federation focuses on next generation

WEST HARTFORD — In an effort to engage community members who are between the ages of 22 and 45, the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford has announced that it is refining its outreach methods.  The first step: the re-naming of its Young Adult Division to “NextGen.”

NextGen’s mission, says a Federation spokesman, is to offer young adults a variety of programs that will give them the opportunity to meet others in this age range and facilitate networking opportunities with seasoned Jewish communal leaders.

Three NextGen networking programs have already been scheduled to take place from 6 – 8 p.m. on: Tuesday, Jan. 31; Thursday, Feb. 23; Tuesday, March 13. Each evening will include time to network and a brief message about the Federation’s impact in the community.  Future networking sessions will be held in the Farmington Valley and east of the river areas.

NextGen is also hosting a “Fun Night Out” on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. at Nomad’s Adventure Quest in Windsor.  For more information on NextGen events, contact Ilana Bernstein at ibernstein@jewishhartford.org or (860) 727-6119.
