"Friends of Solomon Schechter" campaign receives matching gift

WEST HARTFORD — The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford (SSDS) has received a $10,000 challenge gift from the Solinsky and Zachs families, it was announced recently by Jan Rotter, the school’s director of development. Under the terms of this gift, new donations of up to $10,000 to the “Friends of Solomon Schechter” campaign (F.O.S.S.) through Feb. 17, will be matched dollar for dollar.
“We are so grateful to the Solinsky and Zachs families for this generous matching donation and we hope that it will encourage more Schechter families and community members to support academic excellence and innovative programming in our school,” said Rotter.
“Solomon Schechter Day School depends on the generous support of the entire Jewish and greater Hartford community to make the excellent education that we provide available to all of our students,” said Rabbi Elliot Goldberg, head of school.
