Dr. Hal and Judith Mooney of West Hartford announce the engagement of their daughter Melissa Ellen Mooney to Joshua Peter Wikoff, son of Andrew and Susan Wikoff of Irvine, Calif.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Robert and Shella Mooney of Simsbury, and Sylvia and the late Aaron Lutin of West Hartford. A graduate of Hall High School in West Hartford, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, where she was a College Park Scholar in Life Sciences. She earned a Doctorate in audiology from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is an
audiologist at Audiological Consultants of Atlanta in Georgia.
The future groom is the grandson of the late George and Minnette Rasof of Chicago, Ill., and the late Jack and Rhoda Wikoff of Chicago, Ill.
A graduate of Walton High School in Marietta, Ga., he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in cognitive science from the University of Georgia, where he was a Hope Scholar. Upon graduation, Joshua served in the Israeli Defense Force as a sergeant in the paratroopers 101st spearhead/operations platoon (mivtzayit). He is a software consultant at AirWatch in Atlanta, Ga.
The couple met in Newport Beach, Calif. and currently reside in Atlanta, Ga. A wedding is planned for this summer in Farmington, Connecticut.
