Lindy Lee Gold honored by The Connection

Community activist and volunteer Lindy Lee Gold of New Haven is the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from The Connection, Inc., a statewide non-profit human services agency.  Cited “for her lifelong advocacy and vision in linking people and resources throughout the state on behalf of The Connection,” Gold was presented with her award at a luncheon hosted by the agency at St. Clement’s Castle in Portland. Jerry Ross received The Connection’s 2012 Community Service Award.
Currently a senior specialist in the state of Connecticut’s Department of Economic and Community Development, Gold was a founder of Cornerstone, Inc., the second halfway house in New Haven for people with mental illness, serving as president of its Board of Directors from 1970-1972. She is a 2008 recipient of the prestigious Elm-Ivy Award, given to individuals who have made a significant impact on the New Haven and Yale communities.
A long-time member of the New Haven Jewish community, Gold  has served as a board member of the Jewish Federation of New Haven and the Hillel Foundation at Yale University.
