Leon (“Julie”) Podheiser, 91, died July 19.  He was the husband of Thelma (“Temmy”) Podheiser. He was born in Brooklyn and he grew up in New Haven.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Albert Podheiser of Hamden; his children, Linda Podheiser of Cambridge, Mass., and James Podheiser and his wife, Nancy Axelrod, of Haddonfield, N.J.; and four grandchildren, Alexandra Shaw, and Lucy, Daniel and Miriam Podheiser.
