Barbara Barlia, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 
at her home in Fairfield.  Mrs. Barlia was born in New York, N.Y., the 
daughter of the late Morris and Minnie Newman. Mrs. Barlia was a well
respected librarian and teacher of English in the New York and 
Connecticut public school systems for over 30 years. Mrs. Barlia is 
survived by her beloved husband Irving Barlia of Fairfield, cherished sisters in law, Susan Wolkeiser and her husband Louis, Phyllis Arnold 
and her husband Alvin, nieces, nephews, and many close friends. 
Services were held on Thursday, August 18, 2012 from The 
Abraham L. Green & Son Funeral Home of Fairfield.
