George Frankfurter, 93, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012. He was born October 15, 1919, in Hungary. George was a Holocaust survivor. He is survived by his wife Katie, also a Holocaust survivor, whom he married in Hungary before relocating to the United States in 1951. George and Katie shared 65 years of marriage never leaving each other’s side. He was a long time resident of West Hartford. George was the owner of Corbins Carpet store until he retired in 1982. He was passionate about his faith and a devoted member of the Young Israel of Hartford. George was a dedicated husband and loving father. He is survived by his loving children: Julie Yarimi of Brooklyn N.Y. and David Frankfurter and his wife Deborah of Southington. He is also is survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family would like to especially thank Elayne and Annette his caregivers for helping them
to keep him home as long as possible, as well as the Hebrew Home and Hospice staff, nurses and volunteers. The family will be sitting shiva at their home in West Hartford.
