Letters to the Ledger Opinion

LETTER — JNF is spending donations foolishly

I am outraged to read in the Ledger (“Briefs,” Jewish Ledger, June 7, 2013), that former President Bill Clinton will be paid $500,000.00 to speak in Israel and that part of the money to cover Clinton’s fees is from JNF funding.

Not everyone that contributes to JNF is rich (my parents were chicken farmers and would be literally turning over in their graves to learn that their hard earned donations were being wasted on speaker’s fees). They and most of us that support Israel give our money to be used in Israel. It saddens me to withhold financial support of Jewish organizations, but I see no recourse when they have little regard to spending the money raised on the earmarked causes.
