On a trip to Israel in June, families from Temple B’nai Chaim in Georgetown helped Leket Israel, Israel’s national food bank, feed the hungry by picking vegetables on the organization’s Moshav Nahalal farm, located in the Jezreel Valley in southern Galilee. The group gleaned an astounding 2,500 lbs. of beets, which will help feed some 400 Israeli families in need. Interested in voluneering? Contact danelle@leket.org
