Jewish Senior Services to honor two Fairfield County residents

FAIRFIELD – The Women’s Auxiliary of Jewish Senior Services (The Jewish Home) in Fairfield will honor two community members at the organization’s 2013 Fall Gala, to be held at the Stamford Marriott on Thursday, Oct. 24. The evening is co-chaired by Judy Brown, Lydia Gerard and Linda Lazinger of Fairfield.

Muriel BrownMuriel Brown of Bridgeport will be awarded the Louis Lotstein Award for Distinguished Service for her many years of service to Jewish Senior Services. A past president of the Women’s Auxiliary, Brown is also a Board member of the Jewish Senior Services’ JHE Foundation and a former Board member of The Jewish Home. She has been a volunteer and has played a leadership role in the organization for more than 30 years.

Bob ScintoBob Scinto of Fairfield will receive the Arthur and Gladys Lunin Humanitarian Award in recognition of his public and community service. Scinto, who is founder and chairman of the commercial real estate development firm R. D. Scinto, Inc., is a local businessman, entrepreneur and consultant who devotes much of his time and efforts to supporting a variety of community organizations, including Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Fairfield County, Boys Club/Girls Club of Bridgeport, Junior Achievement of Western CT and the Bridgeport Downtown Cabaret Theatre.
