Harold Epstein, 88, of West Hartford and Sunny Isle, Fla., died Oct. 24. He was the widower of Mildred (Milly) Epstein. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Samuel and Shirley (Derefsky) Epstein. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines as a Merchant Seaman 1st Class aboard the S.S. Web Miller and the S.S. Cape Texas during World War II. He is survived by his children, Elaine E. Rosen, Susan and Marty Ungar, and Mark Epstein; his sister Linda and her husband Albert Reichin; his grandchildren, Stacey Rosen, Scott Rosen, Amy Churchill and her husband Jon, Jenny Kabakoff and her husband Randy, and Max Epstein; and his great-grandchildren, Michael Savo, Eli and Lucy Kabakoff, and Charlotte and Reed Churchill. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jerold and Arthur Epstein, and his sisters, Marjorie Strano and Barbara Masters.
