Ethan Felson and Daniel Schapira were married on Oct. 20 by Rabbi Steve Gutow at Studio 450 in New York, N.Y.

Felson, 47, is vice president and general counsel at the Jewish Council for Public Affairs in New York, N.Y. Prior to that he was assistant executive director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and director of the Jewish Community Relations Council. In that capacity, he co-founded the Connecticut Committee for Interreligious Understanding and helped launch the Hartford Jewish Coalition for LIteracy. Felson graduated from the Kingswood-Oxford School, Lehigh University, and the Beit Midrash of Hartford and received a law degree from the University of Connecticut.

He is a son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Felson of Quechee, Vt. and formerly West Hartford. Felson’s father, who is retired, was an optometrist in West Hartford. He was elected to the West Hartford Town Council and appointed to lead the Connecticut Board of Examiners of Optometrists. His mother is a retired piano teacher.

Schapira, 33, is a sales and marketing strategy consultant for IBM. He graduated cum laude and Dean’s List from Brandeis University and received an MBA from New York University where he was a Stern Scholar.

He is the son of Dr. Liviu and the late Janet Schapira of Forest Hills, N.Y. His father is a gastroenterologist in New York and a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. His mother was a social worker. His stepmother, Irina Sered Schapira, is a software executive.
