BLOOMFIELD – Rabbi Eliot Feldman, head of school of the Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy in Bloomfield, was a guest presenter at the recent National Leadership Convention of Torah Umesorah, the national society for Jewish day schools. More than 1600 participants gathered at the convention in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains to participate in discussions of current topics related to the convention’s theme “Preparing ALL our Talmidim [students] for their Future Roles in Klal Yisrael,” which focused on reaching the hearts, as well as the minds, of students in the 21st century.

Feldman spoke about collaborative teacher evaluation as a method for effecting positive change in the school’s culture.

Torah Umesorah serves as a support system for more than 675 day schools and yeshivahs throughout the U.S. and Canada, providing curriculum development, publications, teacher training, and resource materials to improve the educational experience for more than 190,000 students.
