Roger (“Sonny Rogers”) Rubinow died May 16 in Hartford. He was the husband of Betty Rubinow. Born in Boston, Mass. and raised in New Britain, he was the son of the late Edward and Faye Rubinow. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Navy and recently serving as the commander of the Jewish War Veterans #51. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Susan Michel and her husband Brian of Middletown, Laurie Rubinow of Chester, Russell Rubinow and his wife Kelly of Middletown, Paula Faye Rubinow of Old Wethersfield, Howard Rubinow of Old Wethersfield, and Scott Rubinow and his wife Paula McHale of Middletown; his grandchildren, Eric and Shannon Michel of Norfolk, Va., Christopher Michel of Washington, D.C., Carly Michel of Meriden, Max Rubinow and Gill Rubinow of Chester; his sister Rochelle Asfalg and her husband George of Cromwell; his brothers-in-law, Ted Heller and his wife Anne of Middletown, and Frank Katz and his wife Mary of Huntersville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
