Top Israeli musicians set for 50th Annual Celebrate Israel Parade, June 1

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Several top Israeli musical performers, including Hagit Yaso, Chen Aharoni and Mr. Black, will entertain hundreds of thousands of spectators at the 50th anniversary of the Celebrate Israel Parade on Sunday, June 1.

Hagit Yaso, who at an early age, immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia, will be one of the leading performers at this year’s parade. Winner of the ninth season of Kokhav Nolad (Israeli Idol), Hagit is working on her first album and recently released her first single, “Anything That Mentions.” She will be performing a set of five songs including, Jerusalem City of Gold, on the State of Israel float.

Chen Aharoni is an Israeli singer and participant in Season 5 of Kokhav Nolad as well as a participant in the tenth season of the UK’s version of The X Factor. Aharoni signed a deal with Israeli record label NMC Music in 2007 and has been producing hits ever since. Chen has had many successful hits, including No.1 on the Israeli singles chart with Neshima. Chen will be performing on the Bank Leumi float.

Finally, Israeli DJ and music producer, Mr. Black, best known for his groundbreaking Electronic Dance Music (EDM) productions characterized by outstanding kick and bass, will perform on the SpaceIL float. A pioneer in the Israeli EDM scene, Mr. Black has collaborated with some of the top artists, producers and singers from around the world.

Co-anchoring the My9 broadcast will be American Emmy Award Winner Ernie Anastos and former MTV Europe VJ Becky Griffin. Grover, from Shalom Sesame, will be a special guest for the broadcast.
