WEST HARTFORD – More than 550 people attended the annual Ner Tamid “Eternal Light” Gala hosted by Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford, held at Hartford’s Bushnell Theater in May. The event, which raised $375,000, honored the Gelles family, longtime SSDS supporters and was co-chaired by Lauren Eisen, Jessica Zachs and Gayle Temkin. It featured a performance by Broadway’s Megan Hilty, accompanied by XM Radio host Seth Rudetsky.

“We are thrilled to honor a family who embodies the Schechter spirit in so many ways,” said SSDS President Robert Kessler. “This event was an opportunity for the whole community to come together to celebrate our school and honor the contributions of the Gelles family over the years.”

“The funds raised this evening will support curriculum innovation and provide scholarship dollars for Schechter families,” said Director of Institutional Advancement Jayne Rotter. “
