Congregation Beth El-Keser Israel (BEKI) has just completed a renovation project to its infrastructure.

The project included renovations to the BEKI’s chapel/library, classrooms and offices, the replacement of windows and air conditioners, as well as masonry surrounding the building.  The improvements will result in more efficient energy utilization and lower energy costs. In addition to improving comfort levels for the Congregation and others who use these facilities, the project also meets the Congregation’s long-term commitment to environmental concerns.

The renovation project was made possible by a $37,000 matching community grant from the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven and the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven, which required BEKI to raise an equal amount in donations from the shul’s members and supporters.

A Conservative congregation located in New Haven and led by Rabbi Jon-Jay Tilsen, in 2013 BEKI celebrated its 120th anniversary.
