Menorah Building Workshop in Trumbull

Rabbi Shlame Landa of Chabad of Fairfield demonstrated the ancient art of oil pressing to a group of children at the Menorah Building Workshop hosted by Chabad at Home Depot in Trumbull one Sunday in early December. More than 100 children and their parents gathered to decorate menorahs, make olive oil and munch on sufganiyot – aka jelly-filled donuts – at the workshop organized by Chabad and sponsored by Home Depot. On Dec. 21, Chabad also hosted a lighting of a giant menorah made entirely out of ice on the Sherman Green in Fairfield. Photo credit: Seth Block Photography
