Hebrew High School of New England receives accreditation

WEST HARTFORD – At its February meeting, the Commission on Independent Schools of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) voted to grant accreditation to the Hebrew High School of New England (HHNE) in West Hartford.

“I am delighted that NEASC recognized the high quality of our holistic educational program. Looking forward, the accreditation process has given us a useful framework for building on this excellent foundation,” said Rabbi Jeremy Bruce, HHNE head of school.

The ten-year accreditation will require the filing of an extensive two-year report in which the school must comment on the recommendations made by the Visiting Committee that spent three days at HHNE in November 2014. That visit was the culmination of an intensive, one-and-a-half year self-study process that involved HHNE teachers, staff, and students and resulted in a comprehensive report..

“I am excited by the news and extremely pleased that the hard work and determination of the faculty has been recognized. I am also deeply grateful for the amazing work done by Dr. Brian Clark and Dr. Nicole Brackman in facilitating the accreditation self-study,” said Dr. Richard Nabl, HHNE head of General Studies.

Founded in 1885, NEASC is the nation’s oldest accrediting association, serving more than 2,000 public and independent schools, colleges and universities in the six New England states and American International schools in more than 60 countries worldwide.
