FEDERMAN

Murray Federman, 96, of Longmeadow, Mass., died peacefully Sunday, Feb. 22. Born in New York City on August 15, 1918, he married Ruth Geldman, the love of his life, on Nov. 2, 1940, and they were married for 74 years. Murray’s devotion to Ruth was unparalleled. He moved to Hartford in 1941, where he was the accounts payable manager for G. Fox and Company for more than 40 years. He later worked another 22 years for Howard Schultz & Co., doing accounts payable consulting. Murray lived in Hartford, Bloomfield and Newington before moving to Tamarac, Fla. in 1981, and moved to Glen Meadow in Longmeadow, Mass. in 2003. Murray served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a radio operator. Among his proudest achievements was that he was president of Agudas Achim Synagogue from 1962-1963, where he was also a longtime Sunday school teacher. Besides his wife, Ruth, Murray is survived by his children, David Federman and his wife Jean of Bloomfield, and Karen Blinderman and her husband Lawrence of West Springfield, Mass. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric and Amy Federman, Stacey and David Fonseca, and Brian and Stephanie Federman, as well as four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel, Jocelyn and Michalina.
