Daniel Z. Cassel, 95, of Palm Beach County, Fla., died April 25. He was the husband of Alice Bael and the late Sandra Levine. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a longtime resident of Stamford. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps and participated in the battle of Okinawa. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Andrew Cassel of Elkins Park, Pa., Judith Cassel-Mamet and her husband Sam Mamet of Denver, Colo., and Robin Cassel and her husband Jeff Whittemore of Arlington, Mass.; and six grandchildren.
