JFACT hosts “My Paris” at the Norma Terris Theatre

CHESTER — The Jewish Federation Association of CT (JFACT) will host a performance of the new musical “My Paris” at the Norma Terris Theatre in Chester on Sunday, August 2. In addition to raising funds for JFACT, this year’s annual “Night at the Theatre” event will also celebrate the organization’s 20th anniversary.

Directed by Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Kathleen Marshall, “My Paris” recounts the life and times of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the artist who captured the gaiety, color and heartbreak of Montmartre, Le Can-Can and the world of Le Moulin Rouge. Inhabited by the colorful people he painted, it’s the story of a great artist who loved a world that never quite loved him back.

Music and lyrics for “My Paris” are written by legendary French performer Charles Aznavour, and a book by Oscar, Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Alfred Uhry. English lyrics are by three-time Tony winner Jason Robert Brown.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a pre-show wine-tasting, hors d’oeuvres and chate with a member of the creative team. The curtain goes up at 6:30 p.m.
