The Young Israel of Stamford has announced the line-up for its annual Sizzling Summer Series.

Rabbi Jeremy Wieder, rosh yeshiva (head of school) at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University, will lead a four-part series on Wednesday evenings, entitled “What Does Judaism Say About…” His topics will be: “Saving the Life of a Non-Jew,” July 8; “Gender Roles,” July 15; “Abortion,” July 22; and, “Vigilante Justice,” July 29.

On Shabbat weekend, August 7-8, the Young Israel will host Shani Taragin, who will focus all three of her talks on the theme of “Kol Yisrael Areivim Zeh Lazeh” – all Jews are responsible for one another.
