ADL to Honor Ric and Jill Nadel and Rabbi James Prosnit

Ric and Jill Nadel of Westport and Rabbi James Prosnit of Bridgeport will be honored at the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) 2015 Upper Fairfield County Award Reception and Centennial Gala on Sunday evening, Oct. 25 in Westport. More than 300 community leaders, dignitaries and guests are expected to the attend the award reception, which recognizes leaders who have demonstrated exceptional dedication in serving the Upper Fairfield County community.

A principal of Ice Air, LLC, which he co-founded in 2003, Ric Nadel previously was vice president of Nadel Industries, Inc. Active in Jewish communal affairs, he is board member and past president of Beit Chaverim Synagogue of Westport/Norwalk, a past ADL Connecticut Steinberg Leadership graduate, as well as a regional board member and Fairfield County co-chair of ADL, and a strong supporter of AIPAC. As a triathlete, he raises funds for various causes including the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport.

Jill Nadel is an ADL Connecticut regional board member, a member of ADL Connecticut’s Education Committee and a Steinberg Leadership graduate. She is a founding member of Bi-Cultural Day School’s R-Squared Initiative, which, in conjunction with ADL, fosters kindness and respect within the school community. She is also a past member of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropy for Upper Fairfield County’s Allocations Committee and Young Leadership Division, as well as a current member of Hadassah. She has served on the boards of Earthplace—The Nature Center and the Westport Y Water Rat Swim Team.

Rabbi James Prosnit

Rabbi James Prosnit has served as spiritual leader of Congregation B’nai Israel in Bridgeport since 1990. For the past 25 years, he has also been an adjunct lecturer in the Religious Studies Department at Fairfield University. Additionally, he serves on the advisory board of the Bennett Center for Judaic Studies at Fairfield University, as well as on the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion President’s Council. A co-chair of Bridgeport Strive Together, a Collective Leadership Impact Team organized by the United Way, he also serves as a board member and past president of Connecticut Against Gun Violence and past chair of Operation Hope, a homeless shelter and social service agency in Fairfield.
