Back-to-School mitzvah

Residents and staff of Hoffman SummerWood Community in West Hartford spent the last month of summer collecting new school supplies to donate to an inner-city Hartford school. Karen Mudgett, SummerWood’s manager of Operations, headed up the effort. The SummerWood community came through, gathering together dozens of notebooks, backpacks, art supplies, markers, pencils and pens. “I am so pleased with the show of support for these school children,” said Mudgett. “Every little bit will help them have a better school year.” Pictured here is Karen Mudgett loading up the van to deliver the supplies to the Hartford school with SummerWood residents Judy Dorros and Ebner Glooskin.
