Family fun for a cause

Fun for a good cause was the theme at the Back to School Drive hosted by Jewish Family Services (JFS) at the Mandell JCC Swim and Tennis Club in Bloomfield. Participants donated hundreds of school supplies for low-income children living in the Greater Hartford area, to ensure that they are equipped with the basic tools needed to start the school year with confidence. And, while they were at it, families had fun enjoying all the Club has to offer – the swimming pools, tennis courts, gaga pits, crafts and inflatables. The event was sponsored by Bob’s Discount Furniture, C-Tech Solar, Lesro, Boppers & Innovative Inflatables, S&S Worldwide, and Victor Advertising Service. “What a great opportunity to partner with the JCC and all the sponsors to create this fun and meaningful event,” said Anne Danaher, JFS executive director. “JFS serves all people regardless of religion. With the help of the Back to School Drive and our friends at JCSO [the Jewish Children’s Service Organization], every child we serve will go to school with the tools for success.”
