HALEM

Dr. Saul Murray Halem, 95, died Sept. 28. He was the widower of Sylvia Halem. Born in New York, N. Y., he was the son of the late Jacob and Bertha Halem. He served in the Army Medical Corps, and in 1945 was deployed to the Manhattan Project as chief medical surgeon for military personnel and their families, including Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer. He was a former member of Congregation Beth Israel of West Hartford. He is survived by his sons, Stephan Halem and his wife Arlene, and Ronald Halem and his wife Rosanna, and four granddaughters.
