STEINBERG

Jacob Steinberg, 100, of Stamford, died Oct. 23. He was the widower of Claire Steinberg. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946, where he learned Chinese in an effort to help break enemy codes. He was also predeceased by his son, Michael G. Steinberg. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Elisabeth Steinberg of Stamford; his grandsons, Brian Steinberg and his wife Kathleen of Stamford, and Matthew Steinberg of Denver; his great-granddaughter Molly Claire Steinberg of Stamford; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
