A sweet night in New Haven

More than 200 people enjoyed a night of Jewish learning at the 20th Annual “A Taste of Honey” event on Saturday evening, Jan. 30 at the JCC of Greater New Haven in Woodbridge. Hosted by the JCC, the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven and the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater New Haven, and sponsored in part by CT Humanities, the evening featured lectures on a broad range of political, social, cultural, and religious topics. The evening opened with an Havdallah service by Rabbi Josh Whinston of Temple Beth David in Cheshire, and closed with a dessert reception at which guests had the opportunity to meet and greet Judy Diamondstein, the Federation’s new CEO. “As a newcomer to this community, it was warming to see so many life-long learners excited to participate in this evening together,” noted Dr. Mara Balk, JCC program director. “We are excited to see how the event can evolve to reach even more people in the future.”
