Sidney Cohen, 97, of New Haven, died Feb. 7. He was the husband of the late Mildred Thaler Cohen and the late Midge Lilyan Cohen. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Samuel and Sarah (Savin) Cohen. He was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his children, Scott Cohen and his wife Annette of Branford, Fred Thaler and his wife Kathleen of Cornwall Bridge, Joan Thaler of Grafton, Mass., Ellen McBride and her husband Richard of Fairfield, and Laurie Baker of Marshfield, Mass.; his sister Beatrice Kopstein of Coconut Creek, Fla.; and his grandchildren, Robert Cohen, Andrew Cohen, David Cohen, Emily Thaler, Samuel Thaler, Lucia Martin, Jenny Zimmer, Dylan Zimmer, Bryan Zimmer, Justine McBride and Seth McBride.
