Solomon Schechter Day School to honor Rosenberg family

WEST HARTFORD — The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford will honor Gene and Anja Rosenberg, Pia and Mickey Rosenberg Toro, and Donna and Andy Bricker, at the 2016 Ner Tamid Gala. The event will be held Tuesday, May 17 at the Bushnell. This year Schechter is turning 45 years old.

The family’s philanthropic work spans over many organizations including, but not limited to, the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, the Hebrew Home and Rehabilitation Center, Jewish Family Services and the Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry, the Anti-Defamation League, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation.

“Jewish education has always been a cornerstone for our family. Schechter provided a strong foundation for Pia and her children. It is of utmost importance to the continuity of the Hartford Jewish community that the school remain strong so we can educate our future leaders,” said Gene Rosenberg.

The evening will feature Catapult, an innovative dance troupe that came in second place on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. All proceeds from the event support education and scholarship at Schechter.

“We are thrilled to honor this family for their generosity and the impact they have had on the entire Jewish community and beyond. We are especially grateful for their ongoing commitment and support of Schechter and are proud that Pia, an alumni of Schechter, is such an exceptional leader in our community,” said Head of School Andrea Kasper.

For information call Schechter at (860) 561-0700.
