Dr. Michael Aronow elected an officer of orthopaedic society

HARTFORD — Dr. Michael Aronow was elected secretary/treasurer of the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society (COS) at its Annual Meeting held at the Marriott Hotel in Farmington, Connecticut on May 13.  Elected by a unanimous vote at the COS Annual Meeting, Aronow will serve from May 2016 to May 2017.

An orthopaedic surgeon with Orthopaedic Associates of Hartford, Aronow has served on the COS Board for more than ten years. A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, he serves as an associate clinical professor at UConn School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Since joining the Society Board, Dr. Aronow has served in leadership and advisory roles, including lead physician for the Society’s Scope of Practice Work Group, and representative to the Department of Public Health review board for the granting of advanced licensure permits to podiatrists.

Aronow is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) where he serves on the Health Policy Committee, Program Committee, and Fellowship Match Committee. He is co-author of more than 40 journal articles and more than 15 book chapters, and has presented his research and given scientific and clinical talks at multiple regional, national, and international meetings. He resides in West Hartford with his wife and five children.
