Marking a milestone in New London

On June 2, Solomon Schechter Academy (SSA) in New London held the school’s Consecration for students in kindergarten and second grade. Kindergartners received Torah scrolls and Consecration certificates, and second graders were given their very first Siddurim. The day began with a beautiful service conducted by Rabbi Rachel Safman, spiritual leader of Congregation Beth El, and was followed by a reception at which the kids and their families tasted cookies shaped like the students’ Hebrew names. Pictured here are several of the school’s kindergartners with Rabbi Safman.
