Stamford to host Shabbaton for families considering a move to the area

STAMFORD – CAMOS (Committee to Advance Modern Orthodoxy in Stamford) will host on Nov. 4-5 its third annual Shabbaton for families considering a move to the Stamford community.

Founded by Michael Feldstein a few years ago, CAMOS has promoted the community at the Orthodox Union’s Emerging Communities and Job Fair in New York City several times over the past seven years. At least two dozen new families have moved to Stamford in the last 12 months alone.

Feldstein believes that recent additions to the community – i.e., the presence of the Jewish High School of Connecticut, a new mikvah and several new eateries makes Stamford a more attractive place for observant families and will help draw them to the area.
