“What’s Nu?” A release party for Nu Haven Kapelye’s new CD

Nu Haven Kapelye, one of the largest and most urbane klezmer and Jewish music bands in southern New England (and beyond), will celebrate the release of the group’s new CD, “What’s Nu?” on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Whitneyville Cultural Commons at 1253 Whitney Avenue in Hamden. Doors open at 7 p.m.; the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. The special celebration will include klezmer and Jewish music, and dancing.

Made up of musicians from many faiths and all walks of life – amateurs, professionals, young and old – the 20+ musicians and singers who comprise the Nu Haven Kapelye come together to play and explore the sounds of klezmer, Eastern European Jewish dance music and Yiddish song.

Tickets to the Nov. 10 concert are $10 in advance; $15 at the door; $5 for seniors and youth 16 and under.
