MOORE

Edward I. Moore, 80, of Palm Coast, Fla. and Charlotte, N.C., died on March 17, 2017 at Hospice of Union County, Monroe, N.C., of natural causes. A retired banker, Mr. Moore was born on October 16, 1936 in New Haven, Conn. A son of the late Reuben and Lee (Lucks) Moore, Mr. Moore earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University (New Haven) and his Master of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, N.Y.). He moved to Palm Coast, Fla. in 1993 from his native southern Connecticut, where he had lived in Orange with his family since 1967. While in Connecticut, he was a member of Orange Lodge No. 143 and the Pyramid Temple Shrine. He served on the Amity Region No. 5 Board of Education, and as President of both the Rotary Club of Orange and the Paugusset Club. He and his family were longtime members of Congregation B’nai Jacob. Following his move to Palm Coast, he served as President of Temple Beth Shalom. He was also a member of the Pine Lakes Men’s Golf Association, the Flagler Palm Coast Sunrise Rotary Club, and the Palm Coast, Flagler Beach and Flagler County Historical Societies. He served on the Palm Coast Service District Advisory Council. He was also a director of the Stewart-Marchman Fund. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maxine L. (Miller); his three sons, Stephen E., husband of Debora L. (Effross) of Charlotte, N.C., Bruce K., of Cheshire, Conn., and Thomas J., husband of Steven Schimchak of Langhorne, Penn.; his sister Norma Allison of Sacramento, Calif.; his grandson Alex Fabian of Charlotte, N.C., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter Beili Fabian of Stow, Ohio. Graveside services were held April 20, 2017.
