PAVA

Simon Sholom Pava z”l, 92 of Bloomfield, died June 5. He was the husband of Marian Katz Pava. Born in Springfield, Mass., he was the son of Fannie and Moses Pava of Springfield, Mass. He served in World War II as a chaplain’s assistant to Rabbi Isaac Klein in Germany. He was a longtime member of Congregation Tikvoh Chadoshoh, now Congregation B’nai Tikvoh-Sholom, in Bloomfield. He is survived by his brother Sam Pava and his wife Beverly of Springfield, Mass.; his sister-in-law Marion Pava of Longmeadow, Mass.; his children, Deborah Singer and her husband Steven Singer of Iowa City, Iowa, and Joseph Pava and his wife Karen Randall of Northampton, Mass.; his grandson Jordan Singer and his wife Jessica Saidian; his great-granddaughter Rosemarie Magnus Saidian of Boulder, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Naomi Goldsholl, and his brothers Jacob Pava and David Pava.
