Joseph Samuel Rachlin, 85, of West Hartford, died Nov. 13. He was the husband of Rosalind (Roz Friedman) Rachlin. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Rose (Saxe) and Irving I. Rachlin. He was a member of Beth El Temple in West Hartford. He was commissioned an ROTC 2nd Lieutenant Officer and promoted to First Lieutenant in Korea, where he served from 1955 to 1957. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, David Rachlin, Aaron Rachlin and Rebecca Berman and her husband James; his grandchildren, Zachary Rachlin, Elijah Rachlin, Sarah Berman and Jessica Berman; his sister Paula Rachlin Gottesman; and several nieces and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother Dr. William Rachlin.
