Sidney Gornish, 89, of East Hartford, died May 2. He was the husband of Carole Banks Gornish. Born in Philadelphia, Penn., and raised in Connecticut, he was the son of Aaron and Dora Gornish. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Leslie Michelle Gornish of East Hartford, and Alanna Mrlik of Rochester Hills, Mich.; and his grandchildren, Alexis and Justin. He served in the National Guard and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a supply quartermaster during the Korean War and achieved the rank of major.
