Daniel Firestone receives CPA Society’s 50-Year Award

HAMDEN – West Hartford CPA Daniel S. Firestone has been named a recipient of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (CTCPA) 2018 50-Year Award. The award, which recognizes honorees for “50 continuous and faithful years of membership” in the professional association, was presented at the CTCPA Annual Meeting, held recently at Cascade in Hamden.

Firestone is the owner of the public accounting firm Daniel S. Firestone, CPA in West Hartford. Over the course of his membership with the CTCPA, he has served on the association’s Board of Governors, as chair of the State Taxation and Member Benefits Committees, as a member of the committees on Accounting and Review Standards, Community Services, Compilation and Review Services, Financial Institutions, Legal Relations & Services, and Management of an Accounting Practice, and as a member of the State Tax Education Task Force.

He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut (UConn), and attended UConn Law School.

A former board member and former treasurer of B’nai Tikvoh-Shalom in Bloomfield, he is also past president and a Paul Harris Fellow of East Hartford Rotary. He currently sits on the West Hartford Pedestrian and Bicycle Commission, and is one of the founders of the Cycling Without Age Program in West Hartford. He is the current chair of the West Hartford Democratic Town Committee, 7th district.
