Bankshot Basketball comes to West Hartford

The Beth El Temple Men’s Club is hosting a morning of Bankshot Basketball followed by a buffet breakfast on Sunday, Sept. 9, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., at Jonathan’s Dream playground, located at the rear of the Mandell JCC parking lot at 335 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford.

Bankshot Basketball is a game of skill and challenge that is often described as a mini-golf, but with a basketball. Players of all ages and abilities, including disabled participants, proceed through a course of angled, curved and non-conventionally configured brightly colored backboards, banking shots off the Bankboards and through the rims.

The game was invented by Rabbi Reeve Brenner of Rockville, Maryland in 1981 as the first total-mix, non-aggressive and entirely inclusionary game that wheelchair athletes and the able-bodied can play together with neither at a disadvantage. Participants play alongside, not against, each other.

This is a FREE family event. For reservation, contact Jacob Kovel  at (860) 651-9366 or eaglewars@aol.com.
