Martin (“Marty”) Climan, 98, of West Hartford, died Sept. 10. He was the widower of the late Hilda (Gitlin) Climan. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (Keyser) Climan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in World War II. He was a member of the United Synagogues of Greater Hartford and Beth El Congregation of Old Lyme. He is survived by his children, Candace Schoenewolff and her husband Bob of Wrentham, Mass., and Rick Climan and his wife Beth of Farmington; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Sula, Benjamin, Jacob, and Jonathan Climan, and Matt, Kaity, and Jared Schoenewolff; his great-granddaughter Rose Climan; and his sister Edie (Climan) Handleman. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter Lara Climan, and his siblings, Lawrence Climan, Ruth (Climan) Pappas, and Sol Climan.
