Paying tribute to victims of the Holocaust at the CT State Capitol

More than 100 people honored the memory of the six million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis at the 41st Annual State of Connecticut Holocaust Commemoration held in the state Senate Chamber at the State Capitol on Friday afternoon, May 3. Sponsored by Voices of Hope, the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and the Jewish Federations Association of CT, the commemoration’s keynote speaker was Gisela Adamski, who shared her testimony. Four generations of Adamski’s family were on hand to watch her receive a proclamation from U.S. Senator Blumenthal. The event also feateured the lighting of six memorial candles by Holocaust survivors: Gisela Adamski, Leon Chameides, Irene Frisch, Rabbi Philip and Ruth Lazowski, and Mina Rosenberg.
