Melvin “Mel” Katzman, 94, of Old Saybrook and Florida, died Sept. 7. He was the widower of Edie Katzman. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Yetta and Harry Katzman. Mel was a protective brother to his younger sister Eileen. He is survived by his children, Marc Katzman and his wife Paula, and Michael Katzman and his wife Katie; his sister Eileen; and two nieces, Sandy and Terri.
