Danielson shul to host virtual High Holiday services

The Board of Directors of the Temple Beth Israel Preservation Society in Danielson has announced that, in light of the current pandemic, the congregation’s High Holiday services will be held online this fall.

Noting that their difficult decision was arrived at using the CDC, the State of Connecticut health authorities and the Rabbinical Assembly as guides, the Board noted in a statement posted on its website that, “while the specifics of our holiday observances are still being shaped, we are excited about the creative possibilities and energy this situation presents. We will use recorded and live-streamed elements including singing and reflection. Our ritual committee is hard at work preparing our observances. They promise to be fresh, progressive and meaningful connections to a rich tradition. … We are excited by the opportunity to try something new and to achieve broader participation. Traditions begin somehow – perhaps we will discover something that will become a memorable feature of future holiday observances.
