Richard (“Papa Z”) Zitser, 89, of Woodbridge, Conn., died  June 13. He was the husband of Joanne Ketover Zitser. Born and raised in New Haven, he was the son of the late Ella Burres Zitser and Saul Zitser. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He served as treasurer of B’nai Jacob Synagogue. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Andrea Benjamin and her husband Cary of Woodbridge, Emily Zitser of Bryn Mawr, Penn., and Jen (Todd) Zitser and her husband Todd of Hamden; his grandchildren, Ryan, Josh (Lindsay), Allison, Victoria, Zachary and Jadyn; his great-granddaughter, Esther; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was also predeceased by his sister Beverly Lavietes.
